GOOD VIBRATIONS AT THE SPRINGS
Surf’s up! It’s the perfect wave! The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra presents the seventh annual Springs Concert, Good Vibrations at The Springs, this year’s greatest outdoor musical celebration, on Saturday, May 1, 8:00 p.m., at The Springs Community in Longwood (located off SR 434, 1 mile west of I-4).
Step back in time to the ‘60s and ‘70s, when “surf music” and the surfer lifestyle was all about sun, fun, the beach, a wave and f-r-e-e-d-o-m! Musically, one group was synonymous with the surfing lifestyle and it was the Beach Boys. Still loved today for their soft, breezy songs and the free and easy lifestyle they portrayed, the Beach Boys are an American icon. The 2010 Springs concert takes you surfside with the premier Beach Boys tribute band – Papa Doo Run Run – as you sit back, relax under the stars, and listen to the beloved classics of the Beach Boys live with Maestro Andrew Lane and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Papa’s impeccably smooth vocal harmony and rock solid instrumentation are their stock in trade. Their lovely crafted reproduction of the hits of the 60’s and 70’s, and especially their award winning re-creation of the hits of …the Beach Boys …left the audience screaming for more.” ~ Billboard Magazine
Formed in 1965, the now legendary California band, Papa Doo Run Run, quickly discovered their forte – they sounded like the Beach Boys! Papa Doo Run Run has been performing continuously since 1965! Members have performed and recorded with Jan & Dean and The Beach Boys, for 3 decades. What makes Papa Doo Run Run different from other bands with similar claims, is that they’ve been working continuously for over 4 decades, and on their own they’ve released 10 albums (CD’s) and a dozen singles, and earned 2 gold records and a Grammy nomination. PDRR’s high energy, highly interactive show features Classic Rock plus their award winning re-creation of the hits of the Beach Boys. They never fail to get the entire audience on their feet, singing along at the top of their lungs. Their best kept secret… Papa Doo Run Run is who the Beach Boys call when they need someone to fill in in their band. You’ll hear hits like: California Girls • Kokomo • Surfer Girl • Sloop John B. • Good Vibrations • I Get Around • Fun, Fun, Fun • Do You Wanna Dance and more!
So, all you Gidgets and Moondoggies put on your cut off jeans and flowered shirts, grab your surfboards and picnic baskets and catch a wave to this year’s greatest outdoor musical celebration. You’re guaranteed to have “Fun, Fun, Fun,” at the 2010 Springs concert!
