Annabelle Gardiner
Annabelle Gardiner has been performing with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra since 2006 and was recently appointed as Assistant Concertmaster in August 2010. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Ms. Gardiner received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Music Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. While at Eastman she studied violin with Zvi Zeitlin and Oleh Krysa, and chamber music with members of the Cleveland Quartet.
Ms. Gardiner is a former member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and has served as a regular substitute violinist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She has worked with internationally renowned conductors such as James DePreist, Sir Neville Marriner, Leonard Slatkin, and John Williams, to name a few.
Abroad, Ms. Gardiner has performed with her husband in the Philippines, Malaysia, Switzerland, and Germany. Locally, she also performs with the Florida Orchestra, Opera Tampa, and is an active chamber musician in Central Florida.
In addition to her orchestral career, Ms. Gardiner has extensive performing experience ranging from Broadway musicals, pop/rock concerts, to 20th century music. She has appeared in concerts with orchestral backup for Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Manheim Steamroller, Arturo Sandoval, Mel Torme, Itzhak Perlman, Renee Flemming, as well as many other renowned artists. She has also been a member of several recording projects, and most recently recorded for Tokyo Disney and Busch Gardens.
In addition to performing, Ms. Gardiner is the current Assistant Professor of Violin at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL.
Former teaching positions include the music faculties of Houghton College, and the Masterworks Festival.
