Susana Díaz

Soprano , who dazzled Philharmonic audiences with her beautiful voice in the Orlando Philharmonic’s production of Carmen, performs some of Mozart’s arias in this season’s Focus Series – Time Machine: Mozart in Prague,  including Bella mia fiamma, adio! … Resta, o cara! and Non mi dir from Don Giovanni. Ms. Diaz has been featured by many leading regional companies including the Cincinnati Opera, Dayton Opera, Florida Grand Opera and Ballet Florida. Interpreted roles include Violetta in La Traviata, Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in L’Elisir d’amore, Elvira in I Puritani, Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, and the title roles of Lakmé and Lucia di Lammermoor.

In October, Ms. Díaz debuts the title role of the Cuban zarzuela Cecilia Valdes in its Los Angeles premiere as part of the 2010 Mexican Centennials. Future engagements include a reprise of Violetta with the Miami Lyric Opera’s La Traviata. Ms. Díaz will also perform at the Orlando Philharmonic’s annual Home for the Holidays concert on November 27.
