(Orlando, FL – June 10, 2011) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra proudly brings music to Central Florida all year long, as it begins its 2011 Sounds of Summer Series on Monday, June 27 at 7:00 PM with Baroque and Blues. The concert is presented in the Margeson Theater, located in the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando.
This delightful program of music features Orlando Philharmonic musicians Mark Goldberg, percussion and group leader; Olga Ferroni, violin; Paul Strasshoffer, bass; Colleen Blagov, flute; Tom Macklin, trumpet; and Krystof Srebrakowski, piano.
On the program is Trio Sonata in D-Minor, by Georg Telemann, in addition to Suite for Trumpet and Jazz Piano, Suite for Flute and Piano, Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano and Suite for Trumpet and Jazz Piano, all by French jazz pianist and composer Claude Bolling. Known for his crossover compositions that combine classical and jazz music, Bolling has composed for over 100 films.
Subscriptions to the five-concert Sounds of Summer series are available in three price levels: Level 1 seating is $160 for adults, $144 for seniors and $80 for students with valid ID. Level 2 seating is $105 for adults, $94.50 for seniors and $52.50 for students with valid ID. Level 3 seating is $70 for adults, seniors and students. Single tickets are presently on sale. Single ticket prices are: Level 1 seating: $37 for adults, $33 for seniors and $18.50 for students with valid ID; Level 2 seating: $26 for adults, $23 for seniors and $13 for students with valid ID; Level 3 seating: $14 for adults, seniors and students.
