(Orlando, FL – January 11, 2011) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra takes part in Untied Arts’ ArtsFest with a FREE performance of the orchestra’s Focus Series concert, Concertante, on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road, Longwood.
The event begins with Instrument Petting Zoos from 7:00 – 7:45 PM in the church lobby. These interactive petting zoos are a great way to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. Professional musicians from the Philharmonic will be on hand to assist children as they try their hands at a variety of instruments and see which one they like best.
The evening continues at 8:00 PM with the Philharmonic’s performance of Concertante. Maestro Anthony Hose leads the Orlando Philharmonic in this program of beautiful classics. On the program is J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg No. 3, Igor Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks, Richard Strauss’ Duett-Concertino for Clarinet and Bassoon featuring Principal Clarinetist Nikolay Blagov and Principal Bassoonist Diane Bishop, and Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante for Violin and Viola, featuring Concertmaster Yuriy Bekker and Principal Violist Mauricio Cespedes Rivero.
