(Orlando, FL – April 22, 2010) – The Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, volunteer corps of the Orlando Philharmonic, proudly present a fundraising event designed for those who enjoy music, dancing, friends and fun in a casual atmosphere. Their sixth annual Jeans & Jewels event features the dancing hits and fashion of MOTOWN! The event is held on Saturday, June 5, 7:00 PM at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market, 200 W. New England Avenue, Winter Park.  Platinum Record Sponsors are Duncan DeWahl of Waddell & Reed Financial Services and Atlantic Housing Partners.  The Gold Record Sponsor is Fifth Third Bank.  The Event Donor is Flight Transportation Associates, Inc.

The Friends invite you to enjoy this relaxed and informal party with a MOTOWN theme. Dressing in the outrageous fashions of the era is encouraged, in addition to dancing the night away to Motown hits!  Guests will enjoy a fabulous buffet provided by Meiner’s Catering, in addition to an open bar.  Adding to the fun is a silent auction featuring fashions, jewels and certificates from select area stores and restaurants.

Tickets to Jeans & Jewels Goes MOTOWN are presently on sale for $65 per person.  Corporate sponsorships are also available.  Corporate Sponsors receive a variety of benefits.  To purchase tickets or for sponsorship information, phone Gretchen Miller Basso at the Orlando Philharmonic at 407-896-6700 x 223.   All reservations must be made in advance.  Tickets will not be available at the door.

Jeans & Jewels Goes MOTOWN is part of the season-long series of “Celebrate the Music” fundraising events presented by the Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic.   The events were designed to complement the many musical offerings by the Philharmonic while giving patrons diverse opportunities to join in the celebration of the Philharmonic’s 17th season and meet some new Philharmonic friends. For further information, phone the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra at 407-896-6700.
