(Orlando, FL – June 29, 2011) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Sounds of Summer Series continues with Summer Serenades, held on Monday, July 25 at 7:00 PM in the Margeson Theater, located in the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando.

 

This program features the Philharmonic woodwinds and horns in a program of beautiful serenades.  On the program are Serenade No. 11 in E-flat major K. 375, and Serenade No. 12 in C minor K. 388 by Mozart; Petite Symphonie (Little Symphony for Winds) by Charles Gounod; and Quintette Pour Instruments Á Vent by Claude-Paul Taffanel.

 

Musicians on the program are Colleen Blagov, flute; Jamie Strefeler and Sherwood Hawkins, oboes; Nikolay Blagov and Patrick Graham, clarinets; Diane Bishop and Erin Robertson, bassoons; and Mark Fischer and Carolyn Blice, horns.
