(Orlando, FL – March 11, 2011) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra presents the fourth concert in the 2010-11 Focus Series, Top Brass on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Margeson Theater, located in the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando.

 

Top Brass features Maestro Christopher Wilkins leading the Orlando Philharmonic brass and percussion in a program of Renaissance, sacred, theatrical and popular music.  Included on the program are The Earl of Oxford’s March by William Byrd, Canzon in Double Echo by Gabrieli, Nessun Dorma from “Turandot” by Puccini, Farewell of the Tsar from “The Tsar Sultan” by Rimsky-Korsakov, Of Knights and Castles from “Divertimento for Brass” by Ray Premru, Stardust by Howard “Hoagy” Carmichael and Londonderry Air.

 

Highlighted on the program are Philharmonic musicians Robert Carpenter, Principal Tuba; Jeffrey Thomas, Principal Trombone; and Mark Fischer, Principal Horn.
