(Orlando, FL – July 19, 2011) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Sounds of Summer Series concludes with World Music, held on Monday, August 15 at 7:00 PM in the Margeson Theater, located in the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando.

This program features Mauricio Cespedes, Orlando Philharmonic Principal Viola, who will also perform on guitar, and Alexander Stevens, Orlando Philharmonic Principal Second Violin, performing as “Duo Sole,” in a program of music from around the world.

Cespedes writes, “Duo Sole brings the exotic samba from Brazil, sensual tango from Argentina, energetic rumba from Spain, romantic bolero from Mexico and spirited folk music from Bolivia. In the Western classical realm, Duo Sole also performs beautiful literature from great master composers, including Mozart’s Duo in G for Violin and Viola, and the virtuosic Passacaglia by Handel-Halvorsen.”

Cespedes continues, “We live in an incredible world where the arts are the perfect window to the true human soul and spirit.  Music, no matter what the origin, moves us in unpredictable directions.  Join us as we explore this expression of the human spirit, converting the Margeson Theater into an intimate cafe to share stories and anecdotes in a world of sounds as diverse as the people who produced it. Together, let’s cross boundaries of time and distance between the old and new continent and enjoy the most beautiful music ever written.”

The program also includes guest musicians Emily McLoughlin and Charles Glazer, violins; Camille Glazer, viola and Jean-Marie Glazer, cello.
