This year, the Orlando Philharmonic’s annual outdoor concert at The Springs features an amazing tribute to the quintessential American singer/songwriter James Taylor, on Saturday, May 18, 8:00 p.m., at the Springs Community, in Longwood.  Certified Financial Group is the title sponsor.

In an era when tribute acts of virtually every successful recording artist are available in droves, James Taylor’s own music stylings have remained the singular opportunity to hear his incredible song book in a live setting – UNTIL NOW!

“Shower The People” is a faithfully rendered presentation of more than two dozen James Taylor classics from his iconic pop masterpiece “Fire And Rain” to the Carole King treasure “You’ve  Got A Friend.” Audiences will be enveloped by the sound of the voice and the songs that have become entrenched as part of the musical landscape of our lives. The presentation takes the audience through a retrospective journey of JT’s music and reveals anecdotal information about the history and creative process behind many of these musical gems providing much more entertainment value than the uncannily precise rendering of the music itself.Shower The People group photo supplied by Ted Fass

“Shower The People” features the voice and guitar work of Neil Donell. Respected as Canada’s premier session vocalist and referred to in the media as the “man of a thousand voices,” Donell’s meticulous performance of the troubadour’s art leaves audiences mesmerized. Accompanied by a group of the most accomplished musicians and singers in the country, “Shower The People” appeals to a very wide demographic audience as JT’s musical appeal bridges virtually every cultural or gender gap.

So pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and join the Orlando Philharmonic for one of their most popular and highly anticipated events of the season.  Then go ahead, “you can close your eyes” and be amazed at what you’re hearing.

Tickets are $35 in Advance and $40 day of concert.  A special VIP ticket, which includes VIP catering, beer and wine, and special parking and seating is priced at $125. (VIP tickets are limited and sell out first, so order early.) A rain date has been set for Sunday, May 19, 8:00 p.m.
