Orlando Philharmonic to Play Third Annual Outdoor Family Concert, Sponsored by Dr. Phillips Charities

The Orlando Philharmonic performs for a crowd of over 2000 at Orlando's  Loch Haven Park during the  free outdoor concert, Peter & The Wolf, sponsored by Dr. Phillips Charities last spring.

For the third consecutive year, the Orlando Philharmonic is a grant recipient of Dr. Phillips Charities. This year, a $31,000 grant will fund a free, family concert in Loch Haven Park.

“We look forward to partnering with Dr. Phillips Charities again and honoring the life and legacy of Della Phillips, an avid lover of music, with ‘An Afternoon at the Movies’ an outdoor concert event that will showcase family-friendly musical scores performed by the musicians of the Orlando Philharmonic” said David Schillhammer, the orchestra’s executive director.

Last year’s concert was attended by more than 1,500 people, who also participated in “instrument petting zoos” and other hands-on activities.

Scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2015, “An Afternoon at the Movies” will be presented in collaboration with Orlando Repertory Theatre. Additional details to be announced.
