General Manager
Craig Evans joined the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra team in September 2026. A native of Syracuse, New York, he holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Ithaca College, a Master of Music Performance (Violin) from the Florida State University, a Master of Music Education from Florida State, and a Doctor of Education (major in Educational Leadership and Education Law) from the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Evans has served has served as a music teacher and school principal in Orange County Schools, a school principal and assistant superintendent in Ithaca, NY, and as a senior leader in philanthropy at several higher education institutions, a healthcare institution, and other nonprofits, including as Executive Director of the Orange County Public Schools Foundation. He is also a past conductor of one of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras. He plays violin professionally and most recently served as the Personnel Manager, Music Librarian, and Principal 2nd Violin for the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes in Corning, NY. Dr. Evans relocated to Orlando in 2025, and continues to perform professionally with various groups in the region.
