Seok Hee Jang recently joined the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as Second Clarinet. Born in South Korea and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Seok Hee’s performance highlights and engagements include tours of Portugal and Canada with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the South Korean Army Band, and the Orford Academy Orchestra. He is passionate about developing pedagogical methods that engage young musicians, and is fascinated by the mechanics of the clarinet, a topic for which he is currently working on a dissertation. He earned degrees at McGill University, DePaul University and is currently completing a doctorate at the University of North Texas. His principal teachers include Alain Desgagné, Stephen Williamson and Phillip O. Paglialonga.
