Dear Orlando Philharmonic Family:
It is a momentous occasion in the history of your Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and we want to share the news with you first. As of Wednesday, November 6, 2019 we have executed a contract with the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for the 2020-2021 Season in Steinmetz Hall!
We are incredibly excited and tremendously grateful for the amazing musical experience this new acoustic hall will enable for both our musicians and audiences. Steinmetz Hall will be the magnificent completion to a world-class performing arts center right here in Orlando, and we look forward to sharing the music with you.
Many leaders in our Central Florida community have shown continued support of cultural arts organizations and to ensure their long-term sustainability. Thanks are due to Mayor Buddy Dyer, Mayor Jerry Demmings, United Arts President Flora Maria, our partners at Orlando Ballet and Opera Orlando, our Board of Directors, staff, musicians, volunteers, and most importantly YOU. Your outpouring of support and advocacy over the past several months has been tremendous and we simply could not have done it without your commitment to the Philharmonic.
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra looks forward to the partnership with the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. We envision a partnership that supports our organization in building audiences and offerings, and expanding our collective base of support within our community for the long-term benefit of our mission.
In the coming months, we look forward to announcing the 2020-2021 Season, communicating with our subscribers about the transition into Steinmetz Hall, sharing plans for expanded reach and commitment to serving our community, and continuing to provide the highest quality artistic product.
Thank you for your continued support of your Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
Dr. Mary Palmer
President, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors
