The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Announces the 2025-2026 Season

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to unveil its 2025-2026 Season, featuring an exciting lineup of performances across its Classics and Pops Series in Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center,  Focus and Symphony Storytime Series at The Plaza Live, and a brand-new Family Day taking place in November 2025 in Walt Disney Theater at Dr. Phillips Center. With renowned guest artists, iconic works, and a variety of experiences for all ages, the 25/26 Season promises to be an unforgettable musical journey.

Classics Series: Masterpieces and Guest Artists

The Classics Series presents an extraordinary array of symphonic works, beginning with Grieg’s Piano Concerto, performed by world-class pianist Sara Buechner, along with Rossini’s William Tell Overture and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5. Violin virtuoso Gil Shaham returns for a performance of Coleridge-Taylor’s Violin Concerto and Hindemith’s Mathis der Maler. The 25/26 Season continues with Debussy’s evocative La Mer, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 featuring the University of Central Florida University Choir, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, conducted by the renowned JoAnn Falletta. Closing the series, Ruth Reinhardt leads the orchestra in a mesmerizing program that includes Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain.

Pops Series: Music from Film and Broadway

The Pops Series celebrates the magic of music from film and Broadway. Home for the Holidays fills the air with traditional carols and songs from classic holiday films, while Defying Gravity: The Music of Stephen Schwartz showcases hit songs from Wicked, Pippin, and Godspell. Fans of film scores will delight in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial with live orchestral accompaniment, featuring John Williams’ iconic score. The series also presents Cirque Musica: Heroes and Villains, a thrilling combination of live music and circus performances, bringing superhero and villain themes to life in a spectacular show for all ages.

Focus Series: Intimate Chamber Music Experiences

The Focus Series offers an intimate setting at The Plaza Live, perfect for chamber music lovers. A thrilling highlight is the fusion of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. The OPO Brass and Percussion sections will also showcase operatic and holiday favorites in a dazzling concert, while another performance features Mozart’s Gran Partita and Strauss’ Wind Serenade, highlighting the beauty of wind instruments. The series also offers a special performance by OPO Principal Harp Haley Rhodeside, with a program that demonstrates the harp’s versatility and expressive power.

Family-Friendly Symphony Storytime Series

The Symphony Storytime Series is designed for young children, with performances such as The Goldilocks Quartet, Holiday Harmonies, Little Red Riding Hood, and A Treeful of Monkeys. These interactive concerts combine live music and narration, providing a magical introduction to classical music for young audiences.

Young People’s Concert: An Interactive Musical Adventure

The Young People’s Concert brings educational and entertaining experiences for children, featuring Where in the World is the OPO?, a musical mystery where children help the orchestra solve a problem, combining fun and learning in a unique musical journey.

Season Highlights for All Ages

With a diverse range of concerts that span from world premieres and symphonic masterpieces to beloved film scores and family-friendly performances, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2025-2026 Season has something for everyone. Whether you’re a lifelong classical music fan, a theater lover, or a family looking for an educational musical experience, this Season promises to inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.

The Classics Series will be offered in pairs, including a Saturday evening 7:30 p.m. concert and a Sunday matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. for each concert. Pops Series performances will be held on Saturdays at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. for each performance. The Focus Series will be held at The Plaza Live on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Symphony Storytime Series will take place on Saturdays and Sundays 10 and 11:30 a.m. each performance.
