ORLANDO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA APPOINTS INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

David Hyslop joins Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as interim

(Tuesday, June 4, Orlando, FL) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra announces the appointment of David Hyslop as Interim Executive Director.

David Hyslop comes to the Orlando Philharmonic with a 54-year career in arts management which includes 32 years serving as Chief Executive Officer for three of the nation’s top symphony orchestras – Minnesota Orchestra (1991-2003), St. Louis Symphony (1978-1991), and Oregon Symphony (1972-1978). Mr. Hyslop has previously served as Interim Executive Director or CEO with several organizations including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, the Stockton Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and others.

A search committee has been formed and is committed to hiring the next full-time Executive Director.

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra serves as Central Florida’s only professional orchestra and is positioned for a trajectory of tremendous growth, under the direction of Music Director Eric Jacobsen. The Philharmonic recently announced the 2019-2020 Season, its final at the Bob Carr Theater, and is eagerly anticipating performing in Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in the Fall of 2020.
