ORLANDO PHILHARMONIC LAUNCHES THE CRESCENDO SOCIETY

Giving society dedicated to leading the way
to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

(Wednesday, May 22, Orlando, FL) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to announce the Crescendo Society, a giving society dedicated to helping lead the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to its future in Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts beginning in the 2020-2021 Season.

The Crescendo Society was inspired by a generous three-year commitment from FAIRWINDS Credit Union to sponsor the Classics Series. Since its inception, the Crescendo Society has grown to 31 members and raised $840,000.

This past Sunday, an event was held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to celebrate Crescendo Society members. Event attendees enjoyed a performance of Ravel’s Boléro by Orlando Philharmonic musicians led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen. Dr. Phillips Charities generously committed to match new Crescendo Society pledges up to $150,000 over three years.

“The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is in the middle of its own great crescendo as we build our road to Steinmetz Hall! This amazing new hall will exemplify a culturally rich city with a sustainable orchestra, dedicated to growth and artistic excellence,” said Orlando Philharmonic Music Director Eric Jacobsen. “These monumental opportunities and goals need the investment from each of us. Together we will create an environment where the community can feast on the incredible sounds of our Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.”

Members of the Crescendo Society make an investment of $15,000 or more over three years to build a sustained giving program to support the orchestra as they eagerly anticipate the opening of Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Society member benefits include exclusive interactions with Philharmonic musicians, priority access to amenities during the Orlando Philharmonic’s inaugural Season in Steinmetz Hall, a “Behind the Scenes” tour of Steinmetz Hall, and more.

Every investment directly supports the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s mission to enrich and inspire the diverse communities of Central Florida through the transformative power of live music.
