A Home for the Orlando Philharmonic and the Community
In August 2013, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra made the strategic decision to purchase The Plaza Live, a bold decision driven by both an immediate need and a vision for long-term sustainability. This new home presented an opportunity to create a unique performance venue for innovative programming, provide needed facilities for rehearsals and operational support, enhance and increase educational programs for the community, and develop new earned income streams for the organization.
The Plaza Live is a home for both the Orlando Philharmonic – the community’s resident professional orchestra – and all who attend the hundreds of annual events hosted in the venue. Perhaps more importantly, The Plaza Live is a key revenue-generating component of the business plan for the Philharmonic that will enable the orchestra to develop as a world-class, innovative performing arts organization for a growing community.
