Claudia White joined the Orlando Philharmonic in 2005 as a substitute musician on flute and piccolo and was tenured to the Second Flute/Piccolo position after winning the audition in 2017. In addition, she has performed as Principal Flute with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra and Mill City Summer Opera (Minneapolis, MN) and Flute/Piccolo with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra. Claudia maintains an active freelance career including performances with The Florida Orchestra, The Sarasota Orchestra, The Minnesota Orchestra, and at Walt Disney World. She is also a founding member of Music Saint Croix, one of Minnesota’s premier chamber music ensembles. 

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she has degrees from Wichita State University and Northwestern University. Her teachers include Frances Shelly, Walfrid Kujala, Robert Willoughby, and Clement Barone.

In addition to music, Claudia is the Director of First Ladies Farm & Sanctuary, an animal rescue specializing in cats and domestic poultry in Riverview, Florida. She is also the creator of the cooking website Idiot’s Kitchen (www.idiotskitchen.com) where she endeavors to teach friends and family to cook good, real food.

An avid hiker and backpacker, Claudia enjoys trips to the backcountry of our National Parks especially in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.
